Global Policy Forum Europe (GPF Europe) was founded in Bonn on the 24th of September 2004, as the
daughter-organisation of the New York-based Global Policy Forum, with which it works together closely. GPF Europe
is, however, legally and financially independent, and is registered as a not-for-profit organisation in Germany
("gemeinnütziger eingetragener Verein"). Global Policy Forum has been monitoring and analysing UN politics since
1993. Its mission is to monitor policy making at the United Nations, promote accountability of global decisions,
educate and mobilize for global citizen participation, and advocate on vital issues of international peace and
justice. You can find further information on GPF's general work programmes here. Global Policy Forum Europe's
primary aim is to monitor and analyse critically German and European policy-making relating to and within the UN.
At the moment, our work focuses on the following areas:
- Development politics, financing for development, Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)
- UN reform, multilateralism, global governance
- Corporate Accountability
GPF Europe puts out publications and organises events on these issues. We co-operate closely with various
partner-organisations, such as terre des hommes Germany, and are also actively engaged in international networks,
particularly Social Watch.
